I’m Landon Henderson, a Class of 2031 point guard and shooting guard for Cherokee Middle School and DC Kings MO – Royalty. I’ve attended the Phenom National Camp four times and earned Top 20 All-Star, All-Defense Team and All-Hustle Team recognition. I build my game around guard skills, defensive effort, penetration and finishing, catch-and-shoot ability and a willingness to compete. In the classroom, I maintain a 4.0 GPA and have earned Principal’s Honor Roll recognition. My approach is simple: be coachable, help my team and keep developing the skill, strength, conditioning and decision-making I need for the next level.

What Coaches See
These Phenom National Camp evaluations show my verified ratings, strengths and development priorities from each coach and session.
Coach Anthony Clayton
Phenom National CampCoach Clayton highlighted my positive attitude, coachability, work ethic, ball handling, court vision, ability to get into the paint, poise under pressure and willingness to keep teammates involved. He also recognized my effort defending the basketball.
Coach's Original Write-UpYou had a very good camp and consistently competed with a positive attitude. As a point guard, you showed that you are comfortable with the ball in your hands and have the ability to make plays for yourself and your teammates. Your work ethic and willingness to be coached stood out throughout the week, and those qualities will continue to help you improve.
Your biggest strengths right now are your ball handling, court vision, and ability to get into the paint. You showed good poise under pressure and did a nice job keeping your teammates involved. Defensively, you competed and were willing to guard the basketball, which is an important trait for a point guard.
The next step in your development is becoming a more complete offensive threat. Continue improving the consistency of your jump shot, especially from three-point range and off the dribble. When defenders know you can consistently make shots, it will create even more driving and passing opportunities for you. Also focus on finishing through contact with either hand and developing your weak hand so you become harder to defend.
As you move into 8th grade, continue to become more vocal on the floor. Great point guards don't just make plays—they lead their team with communication, confidence, and decision-making on every possession.
Overall, you have a solid foundation and the potential to develop into a very good lead guard. Stay consistent with your skill development, embrace coaching, and compete every day. If you continue to improve your shooting, finishing, and leadership, you will put yourself in a great position to succeed at the next level.
Development focus: Continue building jump-shot consistency, finishing, weak-hand development, vocal leadership, communication and decision-making.
Coach Kurt Kuriata
Phenom National CampCoach Kuriata highlighted my ability to control tempo and pace, my court presence, ball handling, defense and court vision. He noted that when I played with confidence, I created major problems for opponents and shot the ball extremely well.
Coach's Original Write-Up (Excerpt)Landon's ability to control tempo and pace was one of his strong suits. Landon does need to work on being more of authority figure will bringing up the ball and being able to learn what it takes to be a floor general and not being timid to speak up and tell teammates where to go and what to do. What his confidence was going he was an absolute menace for the other team and shot lights out.
Development focus: Become a more vocal floor general, communicate with greater authority and confidently direct teammates on the court.
